Every country has its own dark past. There was war, murder, and violence. People were sometimes killed, raped, and murdererd in ways so gruesome, that there are no words to describe the horrible deaths they must have suffered. The history tells us about people who were butchered, or have been dying in medical experiments, for no other reason than to develop and test new deadly biological weapons. Thousands of people had to die in experiments to find proof for the superiority of one race over the other. The books are full of such deeds, carried out by human beings
Every country has its own dark past and Japan is no difference. In the dark days of war hundreds of thousands of people were killed, raped, and murdererd in ways so gruesome, that there are no words to describe the horrible deaths they must have suffered. The history tells us about those poor souls who were butchered, or have been dying in medical experiments, for no other reason than to develop and test new deadly biological weapons, or to find proof that one race is superior. The worst of crimes was carried out by those, whose highest duty should have been to protect lifes of people, instead of taking them.
During World War II there were two doctors who were carrying out experiments of such a kind, that no sane person could ever comprehend, how any one human being could ever do such things to other human beings. Nazi germany has had Dr. Mengele, and Japan 石井四郎博士 Dr. Shiro Ishii. While the one was carrying out his experiments in a death-camp, the other was building his own nightmare facility in the Manchuria. What both had in common was their genius, and they way to hide their crimes against mankind from the view of the world.
Today I found out about him and this dark part of Japanese past. It made me feel sick to read all about him in a Wikipedia article. Even worse are the documentations about him in a youtube documentation. It would be easier to accept all this if both Mengele and Ishii were insane. That they can’t have been normal, or even worse, geniuses. No normal person could place someone in a ring of bombs, and blow them up, to see how they have to be placed for maximum effect.
No one in their right frame of mind would infect children with poisoned chocolate, or throw infected animals from planes to test the effectiveness of a new desease. And no one could carry out a vivisection on someone who wasn’t even anesthesized be carried out by someone who is not insane. No sane person could talk of those who were selected to die in experiments, and call the victims logs or human wood. And yet 石井四郎博士 and his henchman did it. He succeeded in his endeavour to create bilogical weapons of mass desctruction, that held the potential, to wipe out areas as big as 50 square miles.
You can watch a documentary about him in English or in Japanese. I suggest you better ignore the comments made under the English ones, you will see why, when you click to watch the videos. Be prepared that the content of the videos is not easy to digest. Don’t say I didn’t warn you afterwards. I am glad that I found them. This will not change the way I feel and think about Japan and Japanese people. And I am not going to judge about the crimes that were committed under the supervision of one Japanese person, and backed by many others. I accept it as what it is, a part of the history of a nation, that only those who did it and allowed it to happen should be blamed for.
